Newbury Racecourse welcomes Dubai Duty Free at Spring Trials Weekend

Dubai Duty Free's 2024 sponsorship of European horse racing kicks off with the Spring Trials Weekend at Newbury Racecourse in the UK, starting on Friday, April 19. This event is a crucial early season milestone for top racing stables, featuring two days of races including significant pre-race events for t2,000 and 1,000 Guineas in the Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes and the Dubai Duty Free Stakes on Saturday, both of which are classified as Group 2 races.
The seven-furlong trial for fillies has drawn 11 entries, including Elmalka, who is slated for her first grass race under Newmarket trainer Roger Varian, representing His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Elmalka previously won a novice stakes over the same distance at Southwell's all-weather track last November, besting eight competitors.
The Dubai Duty Free Stakes is one among seven races at this event supported by Dubai Duty Free, at a venue favored by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The event begins with the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup EBF Maiden Stakes, scheduled for 13:42 BST on Friday, April 19.
