Preparations underway for 2018 Summit of the Americas
For those who want to learn about “The Power of the Americas,” the duty free and travel retail Summit of the Americas will be the place to be next March.
The 2018 conference will mark the first time the International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and the Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libre (ASUTIL) have come together to put on the keynote Orlando event, to be held March 18 - 21 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
The association underscores the opportunities to be gained by tradeshow attendance as “the only industry event that specializes in the entire Americas and Caribbean marketplace”.
The webpage offers facts and figures to support the summit push. For example, in 2016, duty and travel retail sales in the Americas and the Caribbean was US$10.7 billion, 17% of the worldwide total of US$63.6 billion. In other words, business is booming in the region.
The three-day conference will include plenty of opportunities for networking as well as well as educational presentations and a trade show that runs the duration of the conference.
There will be three executive conference sessions targeted to the duty free and travel retail industry that will be held March 19, 20 and 21. Speakers will be announced in 2018.
More than 300 duty free and travel retail operators are expected to attend the event, as well as international buyers from elsewhere in the world.
Exhibitors can now begin booking their space, which will be assigned in priority order, based on past exhibit history, with returning exhibitors from 2017 being assigned space first, followed by new exhibitors.
