Bartenders cruise through to next round of Diageo World Class competition


Diageo Global Travel has named the final three cruiseline bartenders who will compete in Diageo’s World Class Bartender of the Year semi-final on June 20.
The event, in partnership with three of the world’s top cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Seabourn Cruise Line, will take place at the Diageo Bar 396 in Miami.
The winner will go on to represent Diageo Global Travel at the global final of one of the leading bartender competitions in the world – World Class Bartender of the Year in Mexico City on August 20 to 24, 2017.
The finalists were chosen from talented mixologists, including:
Celebrity Cruises: Lazar Milosavljevic, 28, from Serbia, is a Senior Bartender on-board Celebrity Reflection. Since taking part in the World Class training program, his talent in making outstanding cocktails has been widely recognized by his cruiseline guests and crew. His signature serve is CÎROC Ocean Peach.
Norwegian Cruise Line: Marc McArthur, 28, from South Africa, is Head Mixologist on Norwegian Escape. McArthur has been selected as a semi-finalist for the second year in a row. His signature serve is The Autumn Dram, featuring Haig Club.
Seabourn Cruise Line: Claudio Santos Liborio, 32, from Portugal, is a bartender onboard Seabourn Sojourn. His signature serve is Sherry Blossom, featuring Bulleit Rye and Bulleit Bourbon inspired by the beauty of the cherry blossom tree which he encountered during his travels around Japan onboard Seabourn Sojourn.
