Tax Free World Association announced the appointment of Alain Maingreaud as Managing Director TFWA, taking effect August 1, 2010. The appointment follows the departure in April of Olivier Charriaud.

Maingreaud has been the Exhibitions and Business Development Director of the Association since 2007 and prior to that he was Commercial Director. As such, he has been closely involved in all aspects of the organization of the annual TFWA exhibitions and conference activities for the duty free and travel retail industry.

Reporting to Erik Juul-Mortensen, President, and the TFWA Board, Maingreaud will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Association and for the leadership of the executive team in the future development of TFWA and its activities. He will direct the development and subsequent implementation of the Association’s medium and long-term strategy.

Maingreaud will liaise closely with the executive team, TFWA partners, the management committee and the board in the management and development of the Association’s activities, including TFWA World Exhibition and TFWA Asia Pacific & GATE ONE2ONE, striving constantly to develop these to satisfy the needs and expectations of the industry.
