Swiss watchmaker Rotary Watches celebrated the new decade and the brand’s international expansion by launching the Rotary Evolution Collection during BaselWorld.

The range of modern statement watches offers impressive travel-related functionality and encompasses collections of travel-centric timepieces. The new sub-brand is the result of three years of design and development resulting in a truly ground-breaking cluster of contemporary timepieces.

The collection is split into three categories as per time zones: TZ1 is a family of chronograph watches in three color ways: stainless steel, PVD rose gold and PVD yellow gold; each dial has striking red dial accents. The chronograph movement allows fractions of time to be measured, aimed at those choosing a more sports-inspired piece.

Series TZ2 represents the most innovative of the models and includes the patented and award-winning round and rectangular rotating case strap watches, dubbed the Rotary Revelation. Individually powered by two separate movements, the timepieces allow the wearer to retain two separate times and achieve two distinctive looks in one watch. The concurrent theme is “day” and “night” as each watch has a contrasting dark dial on one side and a light dial on the other. Although most of the models in this series have been designed to appeal to men, two mid-size Austrian crystal set, round models have been launched in stainless steel with black leather strap and PVD rose gold with brown leather straps for ladies.

The trilogy is concluded with TZ3, arguably the “hero” of the collection. Consisting of a cluster of trio-timer models, each of the watches features a futuristic grid-effect dial that includes two separately-powered mini dials resulting in an ability to maintain three separate times. Crafted in stainless steel, PVD rose gold and black ion plating, these generously-proportioned and design-led watches are finished with a ribbed rubber strap and deployment clasp. From February 2010 Rotary Watches was listed with Aldeasa in Saudi Arabia, starting in Jeddah with the two terminals Jeddah North & Jeddah South, and only available at the international flights.

The best-sellers in duty free are Rotary’s range of iconic watches featuring two time zones, as they allow travelers to keep the time of their country of origin while also being able to set and keep the time of their travel destination. In addition to this, the Aquaspeed Collection of high tolerance sporty watches, as well as the elegant Swiss Made Collection of classic timepieces called Les Originales, are also doing extremely well, said Jabbour.

Rotary Watches‘ Basel Collection will be launched in all available duty free doors in the Middle East in Septemeber 2010. In addition, the duty free expansion of Rotary Watches within the Middle East will continue through direct sales from the company’s local branch based in Dubai or through its local agents in each country.
