Fossil Inc. has made great strides in the development of travel retail products. Since Cannes 2009 the company has developed new City Tins for the Fossil brand which serve as packaging for the Fossil watches.

In the last couple of months, Fossil designers have created innovative layouts for a number of international cities including New York, Tokyo, Sydney, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Berlin, Paris, Moscow, Pisa and Cape Town. Starting in September, the tins will be delivered together with the Fossil watches and will be exclusive for travel retail. “The new creative designs enhance the packaging and give them a travel theme,” explained Robert Christiano, Managing Director Fossil (Europe) GmbH EMEA and Travel Retail.

Typical landmarks are shown on the exclusive city tins. For example, Tokyo highlights the famous Tokyo tower that is embedded in the typical Japanese cherry blossom. The London tin presents the colorful metro map and Berlin is characterized by the impressive Brandenburg gate.

Conceived as more than a mere container for products, the Fossil tin has delivered a fun, irreverent and vintage brand message to millions of consumers worldwide for over 21 years. These iconic boxes are nearly as popular as the watches they hold and are regularly collected and traded throughout the world at flea markets, antique shops, and on eBay.
