Proudly Canadian rollout across Canada
Clothing and accessory company Proudly Canadian recently signed a distribution agreement with Casa Cubana, which distributes cigars across Canada on local and duty free markets, with a dedicated sales staff throughout Canada.
“We are very pleased with this mutually beneficial agreement,” said Domenico Ciarallo, president of Proudly Canadian. “Due to our brand name, we’ve had a very strong feedback from BC and Alberta duty free due to the upcoming 2010 Olympics.”
The company exhibited its products at the FDFA convention, including Proudly Canadian jerseys and TWENTY10 headwear, bottles and t-shirts concepts.
The Proudly Canadian rollout will continue across the Canadian duty free market and with drug and convenience stores. The company has also secured listings for its second trademark dedicated to the province of Quebec, namely Fièrement Québécois (Proudly Québécois). “We anticipate national and provincial distribution agreements for both trademarks in relation to our national and provincial holidays,” said Ciarallo.
On the domestic side, Proudly Canadian launched its products at 10 Sunoco stores in Ontario. “If all goes well, they will test up to 50 locations. John Rocca, manager, corporate accounts of Casa Cubana, is presently speaking with 7-Eleven, Costco and a variety of other national retailers, and all have given us a positive reply moving forward to 2010,” said Ciarallo.
What does the company have in store for 2009? “Right now we are reviewing the opportunity of the Americas duty free market as many U.S. citizens admire our products and quality and purchase them for personal and gifts usages,” said Ciarallo.
